Throughout the year we have lots of different topics to enjoy! For example:
- All about me
- People who help us
- Chinese New Year
- Christmas, etc
We do also try to mirror where possible things that are going on in the community/outside world.
We have organisations and groups visit us too, from Chick Hatching with the Happy Chick Company, Zoolab – Rainforest Adventures, Mrs Melody, the Fire Brigade, the Police etc.
Key Person, Learning Journals & Parent Consultations
As part of the Pre School and Early Years Foundation Stage, every child has an allocated key person. They will take observations and photographs of the child to provide information to support the Early Years Learning and Development file (Learning Journal).
The child’s learning journal is available to look at any time.
We usually hold parent consultation meetings twice a year (November & May). It is an ideal opportunity for parents to look through their child’s learning journal with their key-person, and talk about how their child is getting on at Pre-School.
To ensure that we meet our objectives, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).These are the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness’ and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.
